TMI

This morning I was meeting another mom's group. I'm hoping this one is going to be a lot more welcoming than the first one I tried.

I got an email from one of the moms saying she was excited to meet me and the boys and what she was wearing and what her son had on. The first email I typed in response was:

Hi really nice mom,

I'm really excited to meet you too. I will probably be the woman in the corner crying to herself. Last night my mom served her heart healthy lasagna. For most people it cleans out their colon, for me it made my body decide it was stopped up and it wasn't happy. Because I wasn't already in enough discomfort Aunt Flo decided to join the party. Now I feel like my vagina and my intestines are playing rocket socket robots in my stomach. While I'm doubled over in pain my kids are going to be the ones running around like crazy kids that don't have any parents. Hopefully, they aren't the ones beating your child. Also, my oldest child has his hand bandaged like he has a major hand injury. Don't worry about that it isn't nearly as bad as it looks. Ethan is just a bit of a drama king and a normal band-aid wouldn't stick to his sweaty palms.

Sobbing,
Stacey

I decided that might not be the best introduction to the mom's group. I edited it to:

Hi really nice mom,
I'm really excited to meet you too. My boys will be wearing clothing that I haven't picked out yet even though we are walking out the door in five minutes. So I might be running a little late. I'll have on jeans and a purple shirt.

Regards,
Stacey

Apparently that was enough of a description because as soon as we walked in I hear a loud, "you must be Stacey" Alrighty then, I guess this group is really shy. Turns up that the mom I was meeting would join me in the corner crying because she had pulled something in her back and is on muscle relaxers. Dang I should have sent the first email.

The mom introduced me to a couple of the other moms. Her son is just as wired as my boys were. They had a great time playing. However, I kept loosing my boys. Seriously, I have two ninjas. At one point the mom looked at me and said wow they keep you busy. Yes, yes they do. I'm just thankful that we have circus class tonight so they will sleep really well tonight. Of course, she had to ask what circus class is. She was shocked that there is a class like that for kids this young. Then I had to explain that Ethan started when he was still in daycare and then they opened their own studio and started a class just for my boys. Then I had to chase down one of my kids since he had vanished.

When we got home Ethan was asking for nap time. However Preston was over tired and wouldn't fall asleep. Ugh. I just wanted to curl up in the fetal position and hate life for a few minutes in peace before I had to get ready for Aerial yoga.

I really should have canceled my class but decided to feel the burn anyways. I'm just glad the Kimberly had us working out our legs and not our core muscles. When I got home my legs were jello and I think one of my organs finally won the rocket socket tournament that has been going on all day.

I forgot to mention that pump it up had several balloons that the kids were playing with. When we got home I had promised to plow up some balloons if the boys left like big boys. When Josh got home there were balloons all over the place. I asked Josh if he ever wonders what had gone on during the day when he comes home on Monday? He gave me a look, and said on Mondays? How about all the time? Thanks Josh.

Future note when I feel like I'm dying give the boys balloons.

Mom this is the best day EVER!!

I don't want to go to circus class.

I just want to play with balloons.

Hey dad. mom really wore me out today. Is it okay if I just chill with you?

Happy Birthday Grandma!

My grandmother's birthday was earlier in the week but today we had her birthday celebration. Of course when we get together there has to be some drama. Thank goodness for the most part everyone was on their best behavior.
Can you believe that I'm still 29 and holding???!!

It's my party and I can eat what I want to.

My brother wanted to go for a ride in my dad's car. Before they headed out they Ethan wanted to check out Papa's car.
What is the red thing? It is in case the car caught on fire.

Who is that coming down the ally?

It is Papa and Ethan!

We didn't have to use the fire thing!

Time for a little baseball.

Tonight Josh and I took the boys to the Rough Rider baseball game. Preston is a lot more in love with the game than Ethan. Ethan was all about the food. Thank goodness our seats included all we could eat food because as soon as Josh sat down he would get sent back for something else.

Ethan wanted to go to the playground but Preston wasn't ready to go. After a couple of innings Preston decided he wanted to find Ethan. Once we got to the playground Ethan and Josh had already left. Preston didn't care he wanted to play. Preston has no fear and is a little ninja. I was able to convince Preston that we needed to go find Ethan so he was willing to leave but he wanted to go back to the playground. By the time we got back to the play area it was packed. There were several older kids but we were going to let the boys play in the bounce house then head back to our seats. As soon as the boys got their shoes off the boys ran off to the play structure, little toots. Josh was freaking out and I could understand why till we got back to the seats and he reminded me that Ethan had fallen off the play structure on his watch and he was paranoid. Oh, I had completely forgotten about that.
Hey Aunt Monkey. I'm cracking my own nuts!!

Dad I need more drink. I know you just sat back down but I'm a thirsty boy.

The boys were getting tire, Okay, Josh and I were getting sleepy. We left the game during the seventh inning. Ethan wanted to know if we were leaving early because he was in trouble. No you aren't in trouble we are just sleepy. He was okay with it as long as he got his bedtime story.

Newsflash! I screwed up again.

I took the boys to the library yesterday expecting to be taking them to story time. I didn't check the calendar and last week was the last story time till June. Oops. Seriously, how do I keep screwing these things up? I really don't know what is wrong with me lately. Oh well the boys were fine and just wanted to get on the computers. They had to share the same computer which made things interesting. I would try to get one looking at books while the other one was on the machine.

Preston saw a book about robots and wanted to look at it. The funny part is that Josh's old employer and their robots were discussed in the book. Of course it had to come home with us. Then Preston found a book about magnets. I'm excited that it looks like we have a future engineer on our hands.

While I was at the Bloggess signing yesterday there were signs saying that they had story time on Friday nights. After I got home last night I checked out all the information. They want the kids to where their pajamas. Josh and I figured that we would surprise the kids with story time at the bookstore. They were so excited. I thought there heads were going to explode when we got into the kid's section and they say all the toys and books. Seriously you would think we don't have a single toy or book in the house they way they were reacting. Preston is going through a phase right now where he will point to everything and say, "I want that." We were watching cartoons and there was an ad for a barbie bike and he went on for thirty minutes that he wanted the barbie bike. Of course the ad was in every commercial break so he would just be about to move on and the stupid commercial would come back on.

I finally got the kids to sit and were waiting for story time to start when one of the workers came over and informed us they decided to cancel tonight's story time because they had another book signing tonight. UGH!!!! I checked the calender last night and double checked the time just before we left. The kids were so heart broken that they didn't get another story time. I'm so mad at my self right now. I really don't know how I keep messing up meet ups with the mom groups that I'm trying to join. Now I can't get story time right. It kills me to see my boys disappointed especially when they didn't do anything wrong.

A book signing.

The reason that I had my Ode to Korri yesterday was because she was willing to watch my boys so I could go to Jenny Lawson aka The Bloggess book signing. I felt bad that Korri couldn't go also but that is why she is such an amazing friend.

I warned the people around me in line that I'm a stay at home mom, so I might have verbal diarrhea because this was the first time in a long time that I've been in a group of people without kids. Turns out the lady right behind me is also a stay at home mom and was suffering the same condition so we hit it off. All I can say is that the bloggess fans that I meet tonight all are amazing. I had never been to A Real Bookstore before. It is an independently owned bookstore that has a bar. As I overheard someone exclaim alcohol and books what could be better??

At 7:00 Jenny came out and did a book reading then answered several questions from the audience. I was laughing so hard that tears were streaming down my face. I was a hot mess with mascara all over my face. Thank goodness I had some extra napkins in my purse and was able to clean up a little before it was time to line up.

While we were waiting, someone pulled out a taxidermy dog out of her purse to get signed. I think that was the craziest thing that I saw but Jenny was so nice and genuine and I lost count how many times she told Jen and I thank you for coming out. I think I love the bloggess even more now that I meet her.

Dorking it out with the green wristbands! Means we are the first group that gets to into line.

Ode to Korri!! And a random rant.

Korri you are my friend. You rock!! I don't know why you talk to me but I'm glad you do.

Korri ode to you!

I promise that I am not drunk, but truly thankful for Korri right now. She is doing me an awesome favor tomorrow. My payment to her is dedicating my blog to her tonight.

I just found out that if you miss spell dedicating that spell check gives decapitate as one of the suggested spellings. I don't know why I'm amused by that discovery.

There are times in my life that I realize that I'm not the world's worst parent. I know that I've had my issues with Legoland. At least I've never been asked to leave. There is a local news story about a mom who took her eight year old son to Legoland and because of a tattoo that depicts a naked tinker bell using a light switch as a sex toy. You can see the tattoo and news story beware that the image is front and center you might be careful who is around before clicking the link.

My favorite part of the article is that she is trying to claim discrimination. Seriously? You can't understand why any parent of a small child would be upset? It isn't because of how you look but what you decided to put on your body. If it was a movie you would be rated "R", if you body was a magazine you would have to be 18 to buy it. Please get off you high horse and deal that you can't just flaunt your body art when ever and where ever.

I see bad things happening in my future.

Because I don't already over schedule my family enough, I've decided to try out another mom's group. This other mom group was also at Pump it up on Monday and they all seemed really nice. I figured I would see which one I liked better. Who knows I might just stay in both of them. I've already caught myself double booking for the same day and time. I can just see me getting confused and showing up at the wrong place and time.

We will see how long I last in both groups. The second groups seems to have a lot more activities and they don't seem to revolve going to someone's home. I think I like that better because I really don't feel comfortable just showing up to someone's home that I don't really know.

A new activity for us.

This morning I headed to Pump it Up with the boys. The Frisco location has open preschool bounce time from 10:00am till 11:30am every Monday. I've been thinking about going since I first started staying home but Mondays are normally just a recovery day from the weekend. I was tired but I figured I would put on my big girl panties on and took them. I really thought I was going to pull all of my hair out before we left the boys wouldn't stop fitting each other. I was worried how they would act around other kids. Once we go there they played great with everyone especially with each other.

I'm sorry all the pictures are very blurry because the boys weren't still long enough to take a decent picture.

When we got home the boys were like zombies. They were so quite and calm when I was getting lunch together. The boys actually asked for nap time today. I loved it! I think we will be visiting Pump it up again.

After naps it was time for Cirque Fit classes. I can not explain how much I love my Arial Yoga class. I might complain about my soreness afterwards but I love how much of flexibility I've regained. Now I just need to get my endurance up. I guess tomorrow I'll call and see when I can get the boys into the fun club at the Frisco Athletic Center.

Thomas the Train day!

Preston LOVES trains right now. Every year Thomas the train goes to Grapevine, TX for a couple of weekends in April. We figured that Preston would love to ride Thomas for his birthday even if it is a little early. We had planned on inviting the grandparents, godparents, and other important adults in Preston's life. Turns out that Mark and Jen were the only ones that could make it. We are going to have a real party for Preston closer to his actual birthday.

I wish that we had gotten there earlier than what we did. I waited just a couple of days ago to get tickets. The only scheduled time I could get was 12:45. I was worried about how the boys would act because I wasn't when we would get to eat. When we got to the parking area, Josh and I realized that we didn't grab the diaper bag. At home and for short excursions Preston wears underwear. When we aren't sure how long we are going to be gone or know when a restroom is going to be handy we put pull-ups over his underwear. I was in such a rush I had forgotten to put the pull-up on. Josh and I slightly freaked but figured we would see how long we could get through this before there was an accident.

When we first arrived the boys saw a huge sandbox and that was all they cared about. While the boys were playing Josh and Mark went and checked out the blacksmith. The blacksmith was making little cowboy and cowgirl hats. Josh and Mark were excited and each bought some. We only had a few minutes before it was time to line up to board Thomas.

Once we were on the train Ethan could have cared less. He grabbed my phone and started playing games. Preston on the other hand was singing and making train noises. After the ride everyone was hungry so it was time to leave.

After a late lunch it was time to head back home. The rest of the day was fairly relaxing. However I'm used to going to my parent's home so I keep thinking that today is Saturday. Hopefully tomorrow I'll remember that it is Monday.

Happy Earth Day eve.

Tomorrow is Earth Day. For anyone that is visiting Disney World, it is the only day they have Jimmy Cricket visit the park. Wow I am full of useless information.

I'm not the greenest person in the world. Actually, I'm green if it saves me money and or is very convenient. I am making a stockpile of reusable swiffer dust covers. Our recycling bin is always has more in it than the trash bin. I don't normally do anything special for Earth Day. However this year is different, well sort of.

Ethan LOVES going to the movie theater and so does Josh. There hasn't been any kids movies since the Lorax until this weekend! Finally a kids movie that was released because of you guessed it Earth Day. Disney Nature released Chimpanzee. I wasn't really sure if the kids would be interested but I figured it was worth a chance especially since the movie is only an hour and eighteen minutes long.

Preston kept repeating everything the narrator was saying at the beginning of the movie. He hasn't quite figured out the appropriate volume to ask for more popcorn. He also like making chimp noise back to the movie.

Ethan on the other hand was quite and really paid attention to the movie except when he decided that Preston needed to get out of my lap and he needed to get in. There were a couple of scenes where the chimps eating bugs. When we got home Ethan told me that he wanted to know what bugs eat and drink, because he wanted to feed them. During one of our book buying marathons we found a book all about bugs so I pulled it out and let him start looking at it.

We saw the movie in downtown Frisco. Just around the corner at the Discovery Center was Family Fun day. Once again free and convenient wins. I figured we would check it out. Josh took Ethan and I hung out with Preston. Found out some more information Hope Park Frisco. It was getting close to lunch time and Josh and I were getting cranky. The boys weren't ready but it was time to go.

Preston paying close attention to the science experiment.

Ethan checking out his own experiment.
The rest of the day the boys were pretty wiped. Since we are going to have another busy day tomorrow it was nice to just relax a little.

Good News!

For those of you who I talk to behind the scenes know I have a lot on my plate. I have several things in the pipeline but nothing is official yet so I don't feel like I can share with the world just yet.

What is my good news? Did I finally launch my million dollar idea? Are we moving? Am I pregnant? Did I get a job? Is Ethan enrolled in preschool? Do I have the kids summer camps planned out yet?

I can hear you screaming wanting to know what my news is. Deep breath. Okay here it is. Josh's toe isn't broken!!! Yep that is it. I know I'm a snot. I love all of you who read but that is all I have for you today.

A wacky crazy day!

Today was just a weird day. I would call it Wacky Wednesday based on the book by Dr. Seuss but today isn't Wednesday. My goodness Preston even had a shoe on his head. Ethan had to be wacky and have a paddle on his head.
I really don't know why today was so strange but it was. While we were eating lunch there was a police chase that was being televised. Of course I had to watch and when the drive was caught the boys cheered. Then went into the play room and started capturing all the "bad" guys. The bad guys turned out to be various toys and at least not each other.  We didn't do much today but have dinner with Mark and Jen. After dinner we headed to Micheal's because they had some foam paint brushes 20 for $1. The kids love painting with those types of brushes. Oh Micheal's has some pails and shovels for $1. That is the normal price so you can use the 40% off coupons on them. When I was there I asked if they accept competitor coupons and they do. This week Joann's has 50% off in their ad.

The boys love the buckets that I picked up yesterday. We are planning on taking them to the splash parks once they open.

When we got home Josh was putting his backpack down and it landed on his toe.
Of course this happened when it was the boys bed time. I put the boys to bed and sent Josh off to Care Now to get it checked out. I feel bad that he had to drive himself, but then again he made me drive to the hospital when I was going to deliver Preston. In his defense I was going in for a scheduled c-section and couldn't eat before the procedure. It was early so he wanted to hit a drive thru for breakfast and didn't want to have to drive and eat. Wait that didn't make it any better, did it??

I fell asleep while I was righting this.

Yesterday I totally phoned in on the blog. I'm sorry. But the truth is we didn't do anything. Seriously the boys were in pajamas till it was there bath time just before it was time for bed.

Today was a completely opposite day. We hit he ground running today. My mom came over and we had some errands in Downtown McKinney this morning. Then we headed to Stonebriar mall. My mom had found some Capri pants that she loved but the store was sold out in her size. The only store near by that had them was Vista Ridge. After a quick stop to a store on Main street that is closing we headed to the other mall. My mom was excited that she was able to get her bottoms. The boys had been so good about having to be in either in the car seat or the stroller that we let them run around in the play area my mom totally didn't see when we walked past the first time.

Then we headed home. We dropped the boys off so we could head to Michael's. I found a knit pattern on Pinterest to make a washable cover for a swiffer. This week Micheal's has the Sugar 'n Cream yarn on sale for a $1. I'm going to make one for my mom and a couple for myself.

Now the bunny is gone!

A few days ago I announced that there was a bunny in my backyard. On Saturday, we spent the evening watching the rabbit from our window. I kept noticing something not right in our backyard so while the boys were napping I headed out to investigate. Turns out the burrow is empty. I really don't like bunnies but I'm disappointed that I'm not going to be able to see the babies hopping around the backyard.

Shocking I screwed something up.

This morning I was really excited to finally meet the mommy group that I'm thinking of joining. Today was the first time they were have a public event since spring break. Originally we were going to meet at a park but since it rained yesterday the group decided to go to Chick-fil-a.

The boys and I were fashionably late but there wasn't anyone there. We were there for over an hour and just before I left there was a mom group that was just arriving, at that point I was over being at Chick-fil-a. Seriously I think I'm the only person on the planet that could screw up attending a play date.

Hey mom where are the other kids???

Sunday, April 15, 2012

My parents have to much time on their hands.

When we arrived at my parent's home they had some peeps for "the boys". It turns out they have been watching videos on youtube about jousting peeps.

Also at my parent's home, my mom pointed out that I had a rip in my jeans. Great at least it is just my family that is seeing my derriere. We had lunch, then some down time, and dinner. After dinner my mom suggested that we take a walk around the neighborhood. Then it morphed into taking the kids to the park. However a rain storm had came through earlier and we decided the park would be muddy. We then decided to head to McDonald's playground. The kids had a blast running around. Preston wanted to go down the big slide. It takes a couple of times of helping Preston climb to the slide before he will do it himself. Ethan "helped" once. Then Josh helped. Yep, I completely forgotten about my pants and helped Preston up to the slide. When I came back down everyone who had been in the play area had left. I have no idea why the other families had left but I'm super self conscience now.

Whoo hoo, I didn't over schedule the day!

Josh has been begging me to leave the weekends open. I've been working hard on not finding things to do.

The  boys have been asking to do another science experiment. My first but stop was on pinterest.com I just couldn't find anything that I thought would keep the boys as engrossed as the "cloud" experiment. We have picked up several science experiment books so I decided to consult them. I kept seeing white vinegar and baking soda experiments. One of the experiments was to have a cup with some baking soda in it then letting the kids add vinegar. The result is a lot of fizzy bubbles. Another experiment was to have a plastic bottle with vinegar then putting a balloon with baking soda in it over the opening creating an air tight seal. *note: make sure you stretch the balloon out first. When the baking soda reacts with the vinegar it blows the balloon up.

I figured the backyard would be the best place for the experiments. If things got spilled or if the reaction bubbled over the mess wouldn't be that hard to clean up.

The boys loved the experiment but I thought the bottle of vinegar had more in it than there really was. The boys were sad that we ran out. They had just as much fun using their cups to rinse off the patio.

The experiment didn't last as long as I was hoping but I had a plan "B". The boys made rockets.
