A crappy post but lots of pictures of the boys

I think Josh and I have both lost it a little bit. We had a "fight" only using lines out of Dr. Seuss books.

It all started because I'm not a morning person. That is an HUGE understatement!! If it was up to me the day wouldn't start before noon. Anyways Josh was trying to wake me up and I just started with lines from the book I had read the boys the night before.

I started with, "My bed is warm. My pillow's deep. Today's the day I'm going to sleep" from I'm NOT Going to Get up Today!

Then Josh countered with, "Up! Up! The sun is getting up" from Great Day for Up.

I returned to I'm NOT Going to Get up Today with, " Today's my day for WOOZY-SNOOZY ZIZZ-ZIZZ ZIZZ ZAZZ ZUZZ".

Josh comes back with, "Up! Up! Great day, today! Great day for UP!"

Well crap on a stick I was to groggy and now laughing that I went blank on any Dr. Seuss counters. Tonight I'm going to memorize Shil Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk End. So tomorrow I won't have to think as hard.

Today the kids and I did "mommy school" to hopefully counter all of the TV I've let them watch. The boys really enjoy the lessons. Their favorite part was the large rectangle on the floor and they wanted to do everything in the shape.

Today was also swimming. I don't have any pictures because I didn't have my camera with me. The boys did the best they have done in a long time.

I don't know how he slept like this.

Look mom we are playing with rectangles in a RECTANGLE!!

This is living.

Apparently my boys watch to much TV.

Ethan has been talking in the third person and we had no idea why until today. There is a realitively new show on Disney Junior named 3rd & Bird. It is a BBC import and the youngest bird on the show refers to them self in third person.

Apparently realizing where this habit came from has triggered some sort of toddler cartoon rage. I wrote a long rant about the different toddler cartoons but deleted it because WOW I jumped on the crazy train and had to jump off.

I had big plans for the kids but they preferred to stay home and  react their favorite cartoons.

I guess everything happens for a reason.

The Cirque Fit instructors have been very busy because they are putting on a show called kazoo-la-la. There is going to be two performances next week. Normally they email me to let me know when my ten class pass is about to expire, but between the influx of new students because of Groupon and the show I didn't get my normal email. They are also shifting the class schedule to online to help accommodate everyone. Long story short I wasn't actually signed up for class today.

I was actually surprised to see the new student from last week back. I guess my boys didn't behave as badly as I had thought they had. This week they started messing around again. Preston just wasn't listening. I had him sit with me for a while. Once he seemed to calm down he rejoined the class. Then Ethan ran into the bathroom and didn't quite get his pants down in time. I was there to get him into clean clothes. Then once Ethan rejoined the class; Preston was acting up again so I pulled him out. Ethan was a great student once Preston was out of the class.

I guess it was a good thing I wasn't in class today. Man I really needed the class to help burn off all the junk I ate over thanksgiving. I guess I'm going to have to go to the Athletic Center this week.

Sorry I haven't been blogging.

Whenever I'm at my parent's home my mom keeps me busy from the moment I wake up till the moment I pass out from exhaustion. A quick recap of the past few days.

Wednesday -- Swimming!
My mom had some coupons that were about to expire and two were ten off ten and the other was 15 off 15. We didn't want to just  throw away $35. At Kolh's we got a Text and Learn for 91 cents. Then at JCPennys we got two pair of pajamas for the kids that totaled $15. However during all of this savings the boys ended up not getting naps and were extremely cranky during swimming.

Ethan watching a mouse play the piano at Dillards.

Thanksgiving Day -- Family yay!!

Ethan showing off his mad driving skills

Watch out here comes Preston.
My mom and I have been begging Josh to get larger riding toys for boys; Josh didn't think it was necessary. Until we were over at my grandmother's house and Josh realized that Ethan is getting to big for the ones they have. Of course this was after I had already decided on where were going to go when. Then I had to change our shopping schedule. This is all after we had already shopped at Old Navy.
Me, Josh, and my mom waiting for Toys R Us to open.

Three stores later... 1:30am

It is truly sad that we didn't find any thing to buy.

There is talk about next year renting a U-haul.
We stopped shopping because we ran out of room.

Saturday-- Hair Cuts and lots more family
I woke up to find out a distant cousin is stopping at my Grandmother's house this evening. My parents have been bugging me to get the boys hair cut  for awhile now. The last time I tried to took the boys to get their hair cut Ethan was great, however Preston threw a huge fit. My dad assured me that he could get Preston to get his hair cut. I found a kids place near my parent's home. Once again Ethan did great. Preston once again started screaming and crying. Once the hair dresser gave him a sucker he was fine. The boys were getting their hair cut at the same time. At one point Preston's hair was perfect and the hair dresser said let me just even it out in a couple of places and he will be done. At this time I shifted my attention to Ethan who was also finishing up and paying. When I returned to Preston his curls were all gone and the hair dresser was getting the clippers to make it even shorter. My mom and I wigged out on her.  I don't know how many times we said told her that we wanted to keep his curls. I guess I don't have to worry about anyone mistaking Preston for a girl anymore.

Before Pictures

I'm so excited about my hair cut.

Mom get over it. I don't have curls anymore. I'm a big boy now, it is time to cut the apron strings.
After we left getting the boys hair cut we got a call that my Aunt is in town and would like to see us tonight too. We had to do a little juggling but we got to see everyone. I didn't get any pictures because the boys were busy playing with our phones so we could actually visit.

Sunday -- The day of rest

We went to church with my parents. Then spent the rest of the day putting my parent's home back together. Then headed home. I was going to blog but ended up going to bed instead.

How to have a fun and successful Black Friday shopping experiance.

I know Black Friday shopping can be very intimidating for a first timer. However there are some very simple “rules” to follow so everyone can have a great time.

1. Leave the crying baby at home. -- Seriously if the kid is still believes in Santa maybe not taking them shopping for presents would make that belief last a little longer. When Stores opening in the middle of the night how hard is it to find someone to watch a sleeping child. I’m not talking to the single mom’s out there who really doesn’t have another option. The parents that are with several adults in a group. You couldn’t have one person stay at home with the kids???

2. Be Prepared.
-- Don’t get all bent out of shape because you arrived at the store ten minutes before it opens and you didn’t get a door buster. You snoozed and lost.
-- If you have coupons have them organized. Do not wait till you get to the register and decide to do multiple transactions. Then hold everyone else up because you can’t figure out what you are doing.
--Have a game plan when you enter the store. Our plan is my mom gets in the checkout line and lets people go ahead of her till the rest of us are done picking up the stuff on our list.

3. Be Courteous. – There is no need for pushing and shoving.

4. Have a sense of humor.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Thanksgiving. We did some light shopping. Made some turkey. Then headed out for some serious shopping.

Pre Thanksgiving day!

This morning the boys were extremely hyper. Thank goodness PBS had a marathon of Curious George movies, the boys calmed down so I was able to do some serious Black Friday preparations. A lot of stores have coupons that give you extra Black Friday savings. For example, Old Navy on Thanksgiving Day has $10 off $50. A couple of years ago we ended up with several of the coupons so we several transactions. The person behind us made a couple of rude comments. We did have our transactions broken up so they didn’t have to wait while we were at the register. Overall we didn’t take that much longer than if we had just one transaction. She was just upset that she didn’t realize you could have more than one transaction or something. If I recall we had a couple of extra coupons and ended up giving them to her. Honestly I’m starting to get into the Black Friday “zone”, I’m starting to feel like the crazy Target lady. For those who have no idea what I’m talking about I found a commercial from last year. Please disregard them opening up at 4:00am because Target is really opening up at Midnight!!

Very excited and a little disappointed.

I've been super excited about the stores opening earlier this year. Toys R Us opening at 9:00pm on Thanksgiving night. Wal-Mart sales starting at 10:00. Old Navy, Best Buy, Target, Kohl's, and Allen Premium Outlet are all opening at midnight. 4:00 am Sears and JCPenney's doors are opening. I love the fact that the stores are staggering their open times. Just last year we got messed up because with the stores opening so early they are have sales starting at different times. Wal-Mart for example has three different sale times 10pm, Midnight, and 8:00am. Last year Josh and I had to take over $100 worth of toys back because we didn't realize that they didn't go on sale till 5:00am.

This year we are making our list and noting what time that item goes on sale. However I'm not really seeing anything that is exciting me yet. I'm holding out hope that when I actually get the paper and have the ads in my hand I find some killer deals. We have been picking up kid toys on sale or clearance. My closet is starting to get over ran with presents for the boys. Basically I've been holding out for three toys to go really cheap and I'm not seeing any of them yet.

Today was the last day for Josh's fund raising. On Sunday I was really nervous because he still needed to raise over $700. This morning he was doing better but still a few hundred away from the goal. Josh's teammates all started to help and he ended up raising $20 more than his actual goal. I actually teared up a little because it was so touching how they all rallied around him to make sure he succeeded. If you didn't get a chance to donate this time but still want to don't worry Josh is planning to do another marathon in the spring and will be raising more money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. He will gladly accept your donations.

That was a waste of a yoga class.

I don't know why but I was very anxious today. Most people don't know this about me but I'm very terrified of driving over high bridges. However I was running late so I had to take a high overpass that has just opened. Of course that is when Ethan decides to start singing some song he made up as loud as he could. I almost had a panic attack. By the time we got to yoga I really needed the class. However I during the class I could hear the boys in their class and I could tell they weren't listening. Then during the cool down period and the most relaxing part of the class, I got called out because the boys were misbehaving so badly they had to sit out the rest of the class. Then it started pouring on the way home. I think I was actually more wound up then before the class.

I thought last week was busy.

It is so nice to be back home. Don't get me wrong, I had a wonderful time at my parent's home, just I've missed my own bed.

Today we dropped my sister off at the airport. Poor Preston just started sobbing when he had to tell Aunt Monkey bye. Actually he would tell her bye, he informed us that bye-bye is bad. He did calm down when we told him she would be back soon. Then he let us know that he misses Aunt Monkey and that she is a lot of fun. Ethan on the other hand was playing video games on my phone and acted like he could have cared less. Later Ethan asked if we could go to Chicago to visit Aunt Monkey.

Once we got home it was nap time for the boys however Preston had fallen asleep in on the ride back from the airport. He was over trying to take a nap I ended up laying down trying to get him to fall asleep and ended up sleeping myself. Preston never did go back to sleep. I had a nice nap.

Once I got woken back up it was all about getting ready to head back home.

Preview of this week. Of course we have CirqueFit class and swimming. Then we also have Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I know it doesn't sound like it is overwhelming but my family takes Black Friday very seriously. Over the last few years, stores are opening earlier and earlier. With some stores even being opened on Thanksgiving day. Once I wake up Thanksgiving morning I'm not going to be going  back to sleep till some point Friday evening. Several stores have already released their Black Friday ads or a preview of their ad. That means for me the planning is going to start tomorrow going through the ads and start the planning of who needs to be where when for what items.

Fun Christmas tree.

The boys enjoying youTube with papa.

Preston checking out the race.

Whoo hoo it is done!

This morning we headed to McDonalds for a late breakfast. My sister has been talking about a new coffee they have that she is completely addicted to the peppermint mocha. According to my sister it doesn’t really taste like coffee so I figured I would try it out. Apparently I was the only one who was hungry because I was the only one who ordered food. We let the boys play in the playground, because my parent’s house was such a mess the boys had been getting in trouble for trying to play. Then it was off to the shoe repair. We have known the couple who own the repair shop since I was in elementary school. They were so excited to see me and my boys they did the repair for me while I was talking to them and then didn’t charge me. Now I can where my adorable boots!!

Once we returned home I was able to talk to Josh who had run 20 miles this morning in preparation for the White Rock Marathon in December. He was sore but in good spirits and was headed over after picking a few things up at home.

We finished the last room to be completed. For a job well done my parents agreed to watch the boys so Josh and I could attend the end of season party with his running group. I was going to wear my boots however my feet were already sore and weren’t in the mood to break in a new pair of shoes. After the party Josh and I decided that we wanted to go to a “nice” restaurant. You know one of those places that have a host and a wait staff. Josh pulled out all of the stops and took me to the Olive Garden. Yep we are high class around here (spoken in a thick southern accent through a few missing teeth). Then back to my parent’s home. Yep we are old we were back from the party by 11:30 and Josh immediately fell asleep.

Oh yea baby I'm good enough to sing in the next big boy band!!

Momma, make it stop. Preston is singing again!!!

A little late.

My apologies, I have been already severely chastised for not posting about yesterday up yet. The crazy thing is the person was around me pretty much all day long and knows what I did, however was upset that she didn’t get to read about it. *sigh* Anyways. I had another marathon of a day and ended up falling asleep on a couch because I had made the grave mistake of sitting down for a second.

My day started off with Preston poking my face with my glasses trying to put them on my face telling me to get up momma. Ethan had already tired to wake us up and ended up just crawling in bed with us.

The plan was have Josh drop the boys off at an hourly drop in daycare place (We have a coupon). However I wasn’t moving very fast and couldn’t find the boys shot records before for Josh was ready for work. Plan B went into effect that I would drop the boys off, and then trade off vehicles, then head out to my parent’s home. I had found one of the boy’s shot records but I still hadn’t located the “safe place” that I had the other record. In a panic I had grabbed the phone and was about to call the doctor’s office to get another copy when my phone rang. My mom informed me that they were moving slower than I was and not to bother to come out before noon and it should be fine to bring the kids. With a sigh of relief I rolled with Plan “C”. I spent the rest of the morning working on getting my house put back together after the party.

We finally arrived at my parent’s home. My sister, who is in town from Chicago, had been working on my parent’s formal living room tree for over a day at this point still wasn’t ready to put on ornaments yet. I got the boys engrossed in a TV program and start working on decorating some selves in the kitchen.

Today I finally saw why Josh will tell me I’m crazy sometimes (okay more often than not). My family marches to the beat of our own drum and don’t care what other people think. At this point I don’t remember what the exact moment was but basically we are loud and insane. Everything is a competition. Last week Ethan informed my mom that she was number on in his book and Papa was number two. It was my sister’s goal this week to become number one in Ethan’s book. She started off by bribing him. At one point Papa kidnapped Ethan to bribe him to become number one. My sister sneaked into the room and rescued Ethan, which turned into a game of hide and seek. Since then my sister seems to have been able to stay number one even without bribes because she “rescued” Ethan.

Somehow in all of the craziness we actually were able to get a lot accomplished on the decorating. Around midnight I had sat down and ended up falling asleep.

Yep I brought the magent board so the kid's could decorate their own tree while we did our tree.
Aunt Monkey helping out the kids with their tree.

Papa trying to get Preston to sleep.

This is the momentt that I realized my family just isn't quite right.

Why am I blogging in the dark?

That's right I only got four hours of sleep a million hours ago and my feet are throbbing. Not to mention that it might wake Josh up. Ooh I'm going to turn on the lights. Success Josh woke up! Okay not really just enough to find out if I need to be rushed to the hospital. Baby steps.

I am very punch drunk and shouldn't be blogging right now. I just have so much to blog about that I just have to. Now you have been warned that my mind might start wandering to some deep abyss that has nothing to do about what I'm actually trying to blog about.

Tonight was the night of Josh's first official fundraiser. Next time we are doing things a lot different for starters we are going to give ourselves more than a little over a week to plan it. I think that is going to be the biggest change. Second we aren't going to do an event that is going to force me to decorate my home for a holiday that nobody is ready for yet. Okay I didn't have to get my home ready for Christmas for the event but I think it just added to the over all feel of the event.

We had given ourselves a 4:30 baking cut off. Turns out we managed to finish baking all of the gingerbread before that. Score one for Josh and I. Once we were both on baking duty it really speed up the process.

Korri arrived to help clean up after all of the baking. Her timing couldn't have been more perfect. She was actually a little shocked that I didn't call her in a panic before than. I told her that I was so stressed out I wasn't sure which was was up let alone work a phone.

The party started off kind of rocky. Josh hadn't gotten back from picking up the food before people arrived. I hadn't quite gotten everything set up yet. The hot chocolate bar that we had planned on doing went out the window. Lori and Josh's dad showed up at the perfect time to start helping out with kids or whatever I needed.

Once Josh arrived with the food and people could eat while Josh and I finished the last few things like making frosting. Things starting to run smoothly. I guess another thing we will do different is have it start 30 minutes later and do it on a weekend.

Oh I'm so glad that I took notes today because I completely had forgotten about this morning. The boys checked out the Christmas tree that I had made for them. They pulled off all the ornaments and lights before I even blinked. Then had proceeded with pulling off half the magnets all in the same blink. After they got yelled at of taking the magnets off they were over the tree. *sigh* I was hopeful the other kids that were coming tonight would find it more interesting.

There was a little interest in the tree but they had so many other things to play with that they didn't really pay it much attention. I guess there goes my million dollar idea. I'm just glad that it wasn't a complicated project that I had spent a million of hours on.
