I thought the holiday was over!

Yesterday my mom and I noticed that the coupons we had and most of the sale for Memorial Day actually end today. Yep that meet we were back at the stores but this time it was less crowded.

There was a little over an hour wait between the time I dropped off Ethan and the stores opened. Preston just wanted to go outside and run around. I grabbed the bubble blower and the chalk.

It was time to hit the stores. A few weeks ago Josh tossed a pair of my shoes. Today's goal was to replace the shoes. At the first store I picked up some cute black sandals. The new shoes matched my outfit betterh than the shoes I was wearing so I traded out the shoes. Preston was cracking me up, he wanted to hold the packages after we bought them. I came across some sandals for the boys, Preston didn't want to stop trying on shoes.

We had to run and pick up Ethan then we headed back to the stores. The deal of the day was at Carter. They had these one piece outfits on sale for $6. Then we had a coupon for 25% they were only $4.50. Preston doesn't really need more summer clothes but I just couldn't pass up the deal. Then again we are about to stop using pull-ups or diapers so I'll need several outfits for accidents.

At this point my feet are starting to hurt, so I stopped into the Skecher store and picked up a couple more pairs of shoes. I switched shoes again. I had happy feet again!

I headed home to drop off the packages then pick up Jen, Josh, and Mark and head to Ethan's soccer game. Ethan did okay during the game. At one point he started playing goalie and blocked one shot but missed two others. If we have him continue playing soccer I guess we know what position he is going to want to play.

I have enough problems!

For those who know me, this isn't going to be a shocker, I lost my phone today! I know, I can knock everyone over with a feather. Okay I didn't really misplace my phone. Ethan had been playing my games and then it disappeared. Tried calling it but the battery was dead. *sigh* This post is going to be a picture free post.

This morning I got woken up by Preston crawling in bed with me and jumping on my head. Yep, I woke up just a little cranky. Nothing a little shopping couldn't cure. Now that I'm on my way to having a mommy chic wardrobe, Ethan needs some shorts. When I was packing for the overnight stay at my parents home I realized that the boy only has three pair of shorts. We stopped at several stores and found the best deal at Kohl's for Preston size they had mix and match tops and bottoms for $5.50 each and for Ethan it was $6.50. Then my mom had a 15% coupon. Making Ethan's $5.52 each and Preston's $4.68 each. When you spent $50 you got $10 in Kohl's cash that we can redeem tomorrow.

After the boys woke up from their naps we took them swimming. Preston wasn't sure about getting in the water at first. He would sit at the edge and kick his feet eventually he did start jumping in. Ethan on the other hand got in and just started swimming.

After swimming the boys ate then my mom and I took the boys to the city park. That is where I had the honor of meeting the mother of the year! This mom was a piece of work. She was sitting on a blanket with another mom just doting over their babies that were a few months old. *eye roll* We just ignored them and kept going. Seriously they were sitting in the middle of the playground area, not in the grass to the side but actually in the play area. I was watching Preston and my mom was chasing Ethan. A boy came up to Preston and was trying to get him to climb over a wall by pulling on his arm. I thought Preston's arm was going to get pulled out of socket. I told the older kid to knock it off and leave Preston alone. Next thing I know he is over playing with Ethan and about to pull his arm off. I told the kid that Ethan can climb up himself. At another point my mother told me the kid put Ethan in a choke hold because he was trying to pull Ethan off a ladder. This kid was a piece of work. After about thirty minutes of this kid playing with Ethan and we didn't see a parent around my mom finally asked the kid how old he was and if his mom was around. Turns out the kid is five and his mom is one of the moms on the blanket the one with the blue hair (smurf blue and bad black roots). Where the mom was sitting there was a fence up where she couldn't see him in the part of the playground that he spent most of the time. A girl came to the playground shortly after our discovery and started playing with Ethan and the other boy. The three of them were running around. The girl's mother was extremely nice. We were chatting and watching our kids the boy then dropped his pants and started peeing right in front of everyone. At that point Ethan and the girl pretty much stopped playing with the boy. I was completely shocked. I have never seen a mom just ignore a child like that before.

On the hunt!

Josh was awesome this morning in and let me sleep in. He was very thankful when I finally drug myself out of bed. The boys were dying to go outside. We tried to get the boys to come in and eat lunch but they just wanted to be outside. Josh and I set them up to eat at the picnic table. Needless to say I was slow moving again this morning. The plan was to go to my parent's home like we do every Sunday and stay the night so that Josh can work undisturbed for two days. It was time for the boys naps and I still wasn't close to being ready to walk out the door. My mom decided that she would meet me at the Allen Premium Outlet and I would meet her there. Once the boys woke up then we would continue shopping then head out to my parents. I was able to pick up several bottom and some tops for some killer prices. I was able to score a pair of jeans for $9.99 and several shorts for $15.

By the time we got to my parent's home the boys ate then it was off to bedtime. My mom and I stayed up plotting our shopping trip for the next day and trying to find more coupons.

Once I finally dragged myself to bed, Preston decided that was the perfect time to wake up and to keep me up for the next two hours.

What a difference a year makes!

Today I started off with a little couponing. I went to a different Walgreens to pick up the few items the other one was out of and to get some more advil and ponytail holders.

Today I took the boys to  Scarborough Fair in Waxahachie on my own. My friend, Korri, is going to be leaving Texas in the next few years and wanted to celebrate her birthday at the fair. Josh stayed home to work on his project and Korri and her roommate, Maggie, headed out before I was able to get out the door. I had to get from the parking lot to the fair and find Korri and Maggie without any assistance. A year ago Josh and I took the boys to Scarborough with Josh's dad and his dad friend, Bobby. We also ran into my friend Sheri. We were there for A few  hours and Josh and I were at our wit ends completely stressed out from the boys. This year the boys and I were there for over five hours and the only real drama was Ethan got tired of walking and wanted to be carried and I couldn't do to lack of arms.  Korri was a great help with the boys today but I'm a lot more comfortable with understanding their needs and reading their nonverbal cues. My goodness when I first quit my job and started staying with the boys I tried to take the boys to story time by myself and was so overwhelmed that I had Korri start going with me.

Last year Memorial weekend was very stressful and I couldn't wait to drop the kids off at daycare on Tuesday so I could get to work and be around grownups. There is no way I could have taken them to a museum then the next day turn around and take them to a fair. At times I really regret not leave work after Ethan was born but then again I learned so much from the daycare. I really wasn't mentally ready to be a stay at home mom at that point. This past year we have all grown and I now know my boys were a year ago I didn't really.

What a Day!

Ethan had a great week at school as a reward he wanted to go to a museum. Thank goodness for the Frisco Sci-Tech center. Right now they have a train exhibit and at 10:30 they also have a story time. I figured the boys would have a ton of fun. Once we got there, there was a school field trip going on. That is when I started getting nervous. The boys had a great time. I love how the place isn't huge and that it is all in one room with some wall dividers you can easily see around. Ethan was able to run around and play but I could keep an eye on him. The boys were upset when it was time to go, but today was the last day of Lego class.

Once we finally got back home for nap time the boys were exhausted and cranky. They went down really fast today. They woke up earlier than they normally do.

The boys wanted to go outside to run off some energy but after a few minutes we realized it has HOT!!

After dinner we put on our bathing suits and turned on the sprinklers and then realized it was cold. I guess I'm never satisfied.

Side note about Ethan's improved behavior: We told Ethan to stay away from the boy that he has been making cry. Ethan has been staying far away from the other boy. I'm not a child psychologist but it seems to me that if Ethan had aggressiveness issues that we would still be having issues.

Couponing side note: I went to Walgreens after the boys went to bed. Last week I messed up at Walgreens because I had more coupons than items in a transaction. This week I  made sure that didn't happen again. I spent 19.56 on 59.92 worth of merchandise. The item that I'm most excited about is the Huggies little swimmers for 2.99!
