UGH?? are you kidding me?

I got an email today saying the music curriculum is on back order and they don't know when they are going to get it from the manufacture. Great. I guess I have to wait.

I'm so proud.

Today Josh did his first triathlon. He trained with the TriShop beginning tri group. Before he joined the group he hadn't been on a bike since he was in sixth grade (we won't talk about how long that has been). He had never been on a ten speed. Josh did take some swimming lessons. Of course he has been doing running for a while now.

Eight weeks later, he was comfortable on the bike, In the pool the coaches taught him about balance, better form, and built his endurance.  In running the worked on speed and pacing.

This was the first event that I felt like he was going to be competitive-ish. It turns out that in his age group he was mid-pack. Normally he isn't the last person in his age group but pretty darn close. The people that he beat in time at White Rock last year were the ones that didn't show up. Overall in the triathlon he was 188 out of 700.

For this being his first tri and finishing so strong definitely says a lot about the coaches the trishop has. If Josh continues training with these coaches, I believe that we are going to have to start sticking around for the award ceremonies. Josh did a person record in the 5K! When he finished his run people were still just starting theirs. I know he didn't win any awards today but he finished strong and still had energy afterwards.

Who is ready for a little candy???

We have been on a marathon trick-or-treating kick. Friday night we headed to Frisco Fire Safety Town. We we first arrived the people near the door all had chairs and blankets. It is a little sad that people act like trick or treating like a black Friday sale. The kids had a great time. I couldn't believe that half price books and the rotary club were giving books to kids instead of candy. The boys were both able to get winnie the pooh books so they were happy.

On Saturday, We headed to the Frisco Square so the kids could do some more trick or treating. The moms group that I'm involved with had a meet up. It was great to see everyone.

Then we had to head out to my parent's home so we could going trick-or-treating in their square. My boys are spending the night with my parents. So my parents can take them somewhere else to trick-or-treat and I can watch Josh in his triathlon tomorrow.

The boys are still in love with super heroes and this year they wanted to wear the exact same costumes as last year. *sigh* so glad that they got a bunch of new ones for Christmas last year. Preston's costume was from Walgreen's that we paid less than ten dollars for and it is starting to fall apart. Ethan got his as a birthday present last year and wears it at least once a week. There are times he will wear it for days on end. Some how I've kept it from being completely stained but you can tell it has been well worn. I want to wear a sign that says the kids have new costumes they just wouldn't wear them.

A couple of weeks ago Ethan and Preston were watching Transformers rescue bots and Bumble Bee made an appearance. Now Preston is completely in love with Bumble Bee. While we were at my parent's square there was one kid in a Bumble Bee costume, I thought Preston was going to pee himself he was so excited. I asked the mom where she found it and she was nice enough to tell me that she found it at Costco. Really?? Sweet. After Josh and I had a date night dinner of pasta so he could carb up for his race tomorrow. We headed to Costco. They had one left that is a little to big but Preston could still wear it now.

I called my parents to see if they had headed to the other trick-or-treat place yet or if they were at home. Turns out they hadn't left. We rushed back. Preston was just beside himself when I brought the new costume in. Seriously I don't think he would have worn any other costume but this one.

P.S. my mom thought the bumble bee costume was going to be a cute little bug. She was surprised when she saw it.

Looks just like last year's photo.

Ethan actually put on a new costume.

Nope back to the old costumes. Hey mom we are over candy.

Preston loving his new costume.

School Update.

I think I'm starting to figure out a schedule that is working. When the music and Spanish curriculum arrives it is going to make the schedule work out a little better. Tonight I bought a science curriculum. I decided to go with the complete curriculum. It is completely online so I don't have to wait for anything to arrive. Right now they are having a sale and for thirty dollars you have access to ten different books. I decided to use the kindergarten science and social studies. There are other science curricula that have better ratings, but I think this is going to work out best for my family. It give me a lot of flexibility. I'm a little bit of a science geek. With Physics being my main love. I have a feeling that I"m going to be relaying on my library for additional support. The first seven lessons are about different types scientist. I can spend one day on the actual lesson and the next day we can learn about a famous scientist in that field. From the looks of the curriculum it will give the kids a good overview of all the different science disciplines.

I also decided to use the social science curriculum also because well it is already included and for me to add the social science lesson plans and support supplies would cost another $80. By not having to spend the extra money and then wait for shipping this curriculum wins.

Once everything arrives I should be able to have school from 9:30 to 2:00 without running out of things. Man it would have been so much easier if Ethan could have actually started kindergarten this year. The only reason I am "homeschooling" is because we just couldn't find a program that I thought would challenge Ethan enough. If Ethan is board his is going to cause trouble.

Trying to figure it out.

I'm still trying to figure out the school schedule and boys nap time. Today's attempt was a huge failure. I started school to late. The kids were to hyper and cranky most of the day. I also need to figure out how to extend the lessons. Josh and I have been discussing adding music, Spanish, and science to the curriculum we are using. Tonight we bought Music for Little Mozarts and Muzzy. Now I still need to find a science curriculum.

Overall, I think school is going well. Right now there is a lot of review of letters, numbers, and colors. The boys are like we got it already. But it is really drilling in the phonics that I don't feel like the boys have gotten so far.

What was I thinking???

Last night I was going to go to bed at a decent hour. Then I remembered that I hadn't prepared the kids lessons for today. Ugh!!  By the time I was able to get to bed it was after 1:00am. Just as I was about to drift off to dream land I heard one of the boys whimpering. I went and checked and they were both out. After the third time I was starting to think that maybe I was just dreaming that I heard whimpering. Then I heard Ethan, apparently he was having a bad dream. I tucked him in and told him everything was okay. That was the end of the whimpering. Finally I was going to get some sleep right? Nope. I was wired and couldn't sleep. Then Josh's alarm woke me up.

Gee, I don't know why I was dragging this morning. Ethan wanted to do his lessons on before we started mommy school. Fine. I would give the coffee I was drinking to kick in. Then Preston wanted to do his lessons to. Okay. I can get more coffee before school starts. Then it was snack time and lunch. Okay I guess the kids are going to miss naps today. By three o'clock, school was over and the tears started. Neither boy would stop crying so off to bed they went. I know I'm a mean mommy.

After a quick dinner it was out the door for Ethan's circus class. Josh had a meeting with his tri group. I got to take Preston with me.

It has been awhile.

The adventures we have had lately have actually been fairly normal. No major missteps. Until today. My mom was suppose to arrive about 11:00am so we could check out a new to us pumpkin patch. I did a condensed lesson plan today. When I was about to finish school my mom called to let me know that she was still at home and running late. *sigh* Okay I added in a couple of things into our lessons today.

When my mom finally arrived it was time for lunch. After a quick bite, we headed out. We started off using the directions on my phone. They looked fairly straight forward. My mom decided to use her phone for the directions. Apparently she didn't put the address in correctly and we ended up in someone's private drive way. After a couple more fails. Every time I did a U-turn the kids would freak out and think we were going back home. Finally, stopped and checked my phone again. I pulled up a map and told my mom make sure the dot stays on the blue line. We were finally able to find the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm. It was eight dollars and it includes the hay maze, a small pumpkin per person, feed for the animals, and a hay ride.

Right away Preston wanted to feed the animals and Ethan wanted to do the maze. We had Preston feed a couple animals on the way to the maze. It turns out that Preston has my mom sense of direction. Ethan was able to navigate the maze much better.

Then Preston saw a pig made from a hay bale. Preston wanted to feed the pig. Um, okay. Thank goodness he just wanted to feed it pretend food. Then he saw the spider and wanted to feed it too.

Basically the only reason that we left was because the boys were thirsty and I didn't bring any drinks with us.

Then I realized I had another epic fail! My keys were locked in the car. *sigh* really??? Thank goodness Josh was close enough to run over with a spare key. I think that is a personal record of misadventures in one day.

Mommy, I like this one.

Woo hoo. We are on a hayride.

You don't see me.

I'm secret agent Ethan.

Apparently Stressed Out for No reason.

When I went to prepare for the kids lessons today. I realized that I didn't turn the page and didn't finish actually teaching Friday's lessons. Well crap on a stick. Then I debated about trying to combine the rest of the Friday's class and today's class. Then I was worried about time because I wanted to rush out the door because I was wanting to take the boys to Legoland Discovery Center before we picked up Mark and Jen from the airport.

This morning, I was dragging.  I don't know why. I let the boys do their computer time first before we did the lessons. Great we are sort on time and I'm running late. UGH. I just did the lessons that we missed on Friday and called it good. Then I checked the flight information and it said that the plane was going to land 40 minutes later than I thought it was. Score. I let the kids watch a little TV and I chilled out a little. Than loaded the kids up. I had been on the road less than 15 minutes when the phone rang. Jen was letting me know the plane just landed. WHAT???!!! Are you kidding me?? Well that just sucked. Turns out by the time they deplaned and got their luggage. They only waited for me a couple of minutes.

Weekend Wrap up.

Saturday, was just a lazy day around the house.

Sunday we headed over to my parent's home. Once again we took our bikes over to my parents. My mom asked if we could go over to my grandmother's house to ride the bikes. Sure she has a large driveway and large patio. Plenty of room for the kids and no traffic to worry about. My parents also took over some of the riding toys that we keep at their house.

Preston wasn't that interested in riding his bike. He did drive around on his motorcycle for a while, then tired of that. I decided to show him a "secret passage" basically it is a sidewalk that goes all the way around the house. When I was little (and the house was first built), I would spend hours just riding around the house on my bike. The bushes are a little bigger now and block a lot of the sidewalk, the boys weren't able to ride their bikes or scooters around the actual house.

I need a caffeine IV today

Last night after getting home from the moms group, blogging, then getting ready for today's lessons. I was wired and got sucked into a TV show. I think I finally fell asleep around 2:00am-ish. This morning came really early. Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband that woke me with coffee. Man, I was moving at a snails pace, this morning. After what seemed to be a gallon of coffee, I was able to get my act together.

The kids were so involved in school that we ended up running over. We didn't actually have time for recess. Then again we were meeting the mom's group for lunch at a playground. I wasn't to worried about the boys missing recess.

I don't know where my head was on the way to the playground. First, I drove right pass Mc Donalds. The kids weren't going to have anything else for lunch; since I mentioned that was what we were going to have. Then I went to the wrong playground. *sigh* Finally I arrived at the right place. The only people there was the mom's group. One of the moms brought a football. Turned out to be a good thing because there were two five year old boys, and three three year old boys. I did feel sorry for the mom who had a three year old girl and a baby. The girl wasn't interested in playing with the boys.

Once we got home I was afraid that if the boys took a nap they wouldn't go to sleep tonight. I let them skip naps today. Tonight we decided to go out for dinner. Well. Preston closed his eyes because the sun. Ended up falling asleep. Normally if he falls asleep for five minutes in the car it is just as good as an hour nap. Not today. Josh tried to wake him up when we got to the restaurant but no dice. He didn't want to lie down in the booth. He kept trying to do face plants into the table.
Who it ready for some football??

See mom, I'm totally over naps.

This would be a great facebook pic. Mom I really need an account. Come on I'm a big boy.

A little mom time.

At one point during class, Ethan decided he didn't need to listen. Really? I don't think so. He had to sit in the corner. While he was in the corner, Preston and I continued with the lesson and were counting and stacking blocks. When Ethan came back we were done with the blocks and he was upset that he missed them. Ethan started to act up again and I asked him if he wanted to miss more mommy school? He straightened right up.

Then tonight it was a mommy's night out. While I was getting ready Josh decided to take the boys to the Frisco Athletic Center, so the kids could swim. It was weird being in the house alone. It was nice. I started to rethink about going out tonight. I could just curl up on the couch and read a book with out any interruptions. Then again everyone could show up any second and that would be ruined. Besides the moms group is a LOT of fun!!! The moms are all awesome and so down to earth. What I'm really excited about is there is another mom who has a five year old and a three year old that is also homeschooling this year. I have a feeling we are going to be leaning on each other a lot this year.

I'm excited.

I though that the new curriculum was pretty intense but apparently it isn't intense enough because the boys asked for me to teach everything in Spanish. What?? Okay, I guess I'm going to start getting Muzzy from the library.

This kid LOVED mommy school today. I was so nervous that they would hate it and not listen. Turns out they were really excited. When Josh got home tonight Preston wanted to do more mommy school. I'll see how long this excitement last. The only thing they asked to cut short was recess and snack time.

The kids impressed me with how much they know. Normally when I ask Preston anything school related I normally get, "I don't know." Today, I don't know if it was because Ethan was there or what but he was able to  answer everything.

Bounce, Bounce, B-B-B-ounce

After we finished the kid's daily lessons we headed to Jump Mania. I love going to Jump Mania on Tuesday. There wasn't anyone else there. They have been having their Tuesday morning bounce for less than a month. I just hope they keep it. It was so easy to keep track of where the boys were. Oh that bounce house over there is moving, I guess that is whatever child I can't see at this moment. The kids didn't want to leave.

When we got home there were some boxes waiting for us. Our curriculum arrived. The kids were so excited. Okay I was too. They wanted to see everything. Then after I opened the last box. The kids grabbed the boxes and ran to their bedrooms. Um okay. I guess I was the one really excited about the curriculum and the kids were just excited about the boxes.

I was going through the overview of the curriculum and realized this is a lot more intense than what I was expecting. They have report cards for me to fill out for the kids every six weeks. Ethan is going to have homework. Really?? What have I signed us up for?

(Pictures will come soon)

Monday, October 15, 2012

Um, I think you are a little young for that.

Preston has decided that he is a momma's boy. That translates to he has to be in the same room with me or physically touching me at all times. *sigh* We were going to meet the mom's group to see a movie. I was trying to wash my face and I heard Preston in the bathroom too. Okay. He was using the toilet which I can't see from my sink. Then I heard him at Josh's sink. Which is on the other side of the wall from my sink. Then he come running over with Josh's razor. I thanked him for giving me the razor and thought no harm no fowl. I figured I would mention to Josh not to leave it out next time. Then all the sudden Preston started crying. Turns out he had nicked himself trying to shave before he gave me the razor. Seriously kid? He was trying to convince me he needed medicine. It isn't that serious. I have a feeling this isn't going to be the last time he nicks himself trying to shave. I tried doing the toilet paper trick that most guys use but he wasn't having any part of it. I found a small band aid and that made Preston happy.

Momma I'm bleeding to death! No honey this is something you are going to deal with a lot when you are a teen.

A little pumpkin patch.

I realized that this weekend is the only time we are going to be able to take the boys to the pumpkin patch near where my parent's live. However this morning when we were getting ready to leave I completely forgot and didn't bring costumes for the kids. This was the first time we didn't have them dressed up but that is okay because nobody else was either.

What am I doing?

Where is my agent? I need a costume. This is unacceptable!!!

I'm looking for a pumpkin this size.

This looks good but that one over there looks good too.

Why did we think this was a good idea??

This week on Facebook Legoland posted they were having a sale on their annual passes. Ethan has been asking to go a lot lately. Josh and I discussed it and decided that we should get passes again. Today was the day we went and picked them up. I'm so glad that I only have to go through the ticket line once a year. Okay I might go through the line just so we can ride the Kingdom Quest line but it is a quick just scan our passes and go. Today it seemed to take forever. Of course when we thought we were done Ethan says he needs to go pee. Really??  When we got back from the restrooms all the employees at the front knew that we had already paid and had our passes scanned. And let us just go to the waiting area for the "Lego Factory". A couple of reasons it took so long was because the guy that was in charge of the one machine that did annual passes didn't have a clue about what he was doing. Then they ran out of the annual pass cards. We have these blank cards with all our information on it. I just hope that in the future it isn't going to be a problem.

Once we finally got into Legoland, Ethan didn't want to do the Kingdom Quest ride. Ethan just wanted to play in the play structure. Preston is still to short to go back into the play structure. Preston is to short to do the new ride. Thank goodness Preston was happy with playing in the Duplo play area. Josh was tried of just sitting and waiting for Ethan to come out of the play structure. Josh came and found Preston and I and asked if we could switch. Okay twist my arm to take the easier kid. When I got over to the play structure, there was somewhere between twenty and thirty kids taking all of the block out of the little building room up into the structure and handing them to Ethan. *sigh* Apparently Ethan orchestrated putting the blocking into the holding bin. The parents were starting to freak out because they almost had all of the bricks out of the room. I tried to explain that there is a slit at the bottom and they can get the blocks out but nobody wanted to listen to me. Eventually one of the employees came over and started getting the blocks out of the bin and the parents calmed down. After several hours I told Ethan it was time to go. We headed to the restrooms, That is when Ethan noticed the new ride. Of course he wanted to check it out before we left. Shocking he loved getting to drive the jeep and wanted to go again but Josh and Preston were in the store waiting for us.

Oh, giraffe I have missed you.

Look what I made.

NASCAR watch out here I come!

Look what I made.

That could have been a cluster.

The day just flew by today. Schwans stopped by today right before I had a chance to have lunch so I ordered more than I should have.

While the kids were "napping", I got a message that some of the trains from the Museum of the American Railroad were being moved to Frisco today in about two hours. To say that Preston is slightly obsessed with trains is a vast understatement. I figured the kids would love seeing the vintage trains on the tracks. They get excited just driving by and seeing what has already been moved here. I wasn't 100% sure that we hadn't missed the train when we got there but there were several other people around so I figured we didn't miss it but the kids were over waiting.

I headed to the library because I had a couple of books on hold. The kids are feeling deprived because they haven't gotten a ton of books and videos in a while. When I went to check out I realized I had left my wallet at home. Well crap on a stick. At least the people at the library was nice enough to hold our pile of books and videos while I run home and get my card. Ugh. I ran home and back got all twenty items checked out (I mentioned it was a pile) and loaded back in the car. I drove past the track just one more time. Everyone was jumping out of their cars. The train was pulling up just as I got near the tracks.

I guess everything happens for a reason. If we didn't go back to the house; the boys wouldn't have seen the train today.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Yea, I didn't burn the house done.

Today was at typical day. I'm actually feeling pretty good about splitting my time between the boys to make sure they are getting one on one time with me. I've been using the computer to keep one child learning while I'm working one on one with the other. I'm really impressed how well Ethan and Preston use the laptop. Ethan will open new tabs and switches between them. Preston can use the mouse pad better than my mom. (Love you mom)

Yesterday, I actually ordered a curriculum for both the kids. I LOVE Mother Goose Time but like all of the preschools that I've looked at I feel like Ethan has moved past it. If I was just working with Preston, I would have used it again. Instead I decided to go with ABEKA. It has been around forever. By forever, I went to a school for several years in elementary that taught ABEKA. It is something that I"m comfortable with. It was a little overwhelming trying to find something that worked for both kids.

When I had turn on the computer for the boys, I had pinterest page pulled up about smashing cotton balls. Ethan was all about it. Because Ethan rocked his lessons today, I decided to go ahead and try it. I didn't really read the directions I know shocking. It didn't bother me until we were putting the cotton balls in the oven that I didn't read and realized that I didn't check the flammability on the paint that I used. Several of the balls weren't completely covered in paint and I wasn't sure if that made a difference. Um, so I figured that it was a good time to check our fire extinguisher. Then I realized that we don't actually have one. Well I didn't think the oven would make the ball spontaneously combust but I kept a close eye on them just in case. Thank goodness nothing happened but I think next time I'll pay closer attention to the directions specially if it calls to be heated up.

When Josh got home the boys were going ninety to nothing about smashing their balls. Um? needless to say Josh was a little confused. After the boys went to sleep I showed Josh the pictures and he was still confused. What was the point? To keep the boys busy and out of trouble. There was several steps in the process so it kept them engaged the entire time.

I do have to say that I'm glad that I put a disposable table cloth down because it made clean up so easy.

Maybe I should apologize

Getting my boys down for naps is my daily challenge. Nothing makes my blood boil than someone waking up my kids during nap time. Espcially when they have been asleep for less than ten minutes. That is what happened today. When there were two Mormons who came to my door. The first time they rang the door bell the boys thought that meant it was was time to get up. I had to get them back in bed. The second time they rang the door bell and kept the button pushed was just a little to much. I came barreling out of the house. They started in their spiel and I interrupted and tore them a new one. Look we already go to church and you just woke up my kids, I don't care what you have to say. They must have thought they were going to get shot or something because they couldn't get way from my house fast enough.

Hey mom I look just like Dad!

I think it was cruel and unsual punishment!

Last night I tried to update the operating system on my phone. The cable from my computer to my phone died in the middle of the update. I had started the update then went to bed. This morning my phone wouldn't do anything. UGH!! This morning I was busy doing lessons with the boys and chores. This afternoon I called Josh on the house phone to see if we had any other cables in the house. In the meantime my phone died. I had to wait till the phone charged enough to turn back on. It took three times before my phone was restored. Then it took several more hours for the all the apps to load back up. I wasn't able to use my phone for almost twenty four hours and I was starting to have withdraw. I think I might have an issue.

Because I didn't have my phone I wasn't able to get pictures of the boys. Which is really sad because the boys had me draw mask on their faces today. Ethan looked like he had a Spider Man mask. Preston was Batman.

Weekend Wrap Up!

We woke up Saturday and a cold front had blown in. Poor Josh had two hours of training outside in the cold weather. The boys and I pulled out sweater from the back of our closets and snuggled on the couch under a bunch of blankets.

Then Josh brought home a box of donuts for us. I'm so glad that someone in the house worked out because negates the calories for me, right? Gee, I don't know why I've been slowly gaining weight lately.

After our second breakfast, Josh wanted to get his bike ready for his ride tomorrow. The boys wanted to get their bikes out too. We were letting them ride on the sidewalk right in front of our house. Then they wanted to play in the backyard. Next I knew they were running back and forth from the front to the back of the house. Josh and I decided to take the kids bikes with us to my parents house tomorrow. Then we decided that I needed a bike too. I figured I just needed something to ride with the kids around the neighborhood. We are going to spend the night at my parent's home. We figured once the kids go to sleep we could just get a bike from Wal-Mart.

Dinner ended up taking a lot longer than I thought it was. We ended up getting to my parent's home a lot later than we were expecting. When we first got to my parent's, they were at dinner.

Once they finally got home, Josh and I were exhausted. We were getting up early in the morning anyways.

Sunday morning, Josh and I had overslept. There was a triathlon in my hometown and we wanted to watch. We started rushing around. First we had to get the boys ready to go to church with my parents. The we had to get ourselves ready to freeze our butts off.

Josh was happy that we got to the triathlon before everyone had started. He was able to see a few groups go. The elite athletes were just starting to get out of the water. We decided to go to the transition area to see how they quickly changed from swimming to biking. It was insane. After all of the pro athletes and then the elite amateur athletes were on their bikes we decided to look for coffee. There were no coffee places near the triathlon and we didn't want to leave and get caught in traffic. *sigh* There we were freezing early in the morning withOUT coffee!!! Fine I'll go back to the transition area and I'll just pout till this is over. Okay, I really was have a good time just getting to spend some alone time with Josh. After we watched the pro athletes finish the race we decided it was time to go get some breakfast.

Next up was getting me my own bike. We headed to the bike experts at Wal-Mart, and found a bike that was prefect for me. Okay it was cheap.

After the boys napped we all headed out on our bikes. Preston only wanted to ride in my parent's drive we for about five minutes and headed back inside. Ethan wanted to go! My dad decided to go with us too. My parent's area doesn't have sidewalks so it was the first time Ethan ever got to ride in the street. Other than Ethan trying to drive down the center of the road things went fairly well. Then it started to sprinkle. My dad and Ethan went back to the house. Josh and I biked around for a little longer and then it start to sprinkle harder. Since Josh has been training he was able to go up the hills much faster than I was. Once he got home my dad got the van and picked me up. I was only about five house away but I was getting out of breath trying to push my bike up the hill. Wow I'm really out of shape.
Papa and Ethan showing me how it is done.  Hey wait for me!

Time for a little change.

Since I was a bum yesterday and didn't do anything, today was all about getting caught back up. Korri came over to hang out and ended up spending a lot of time in the car with the boys so I didn't have to keep getting the kids in and out for a five minute errand. Our last stop the kids did have to get out because I got their hair cut!

Bye bye hair

My floppy mop is going away

I now look like Dennis the Menace

I promise this isn't a bowl cut.

Cheese we love our new hair styles.
After we got home I was folding up a paper bag. Ethan came running up to me.

Ethan: Mommy, don't. (tries to pull bag out of my hand)

Me: Ethan what are you doing?

Ethan: We need to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Me: Ethan I'm just folding so I can reuse it later.

Ethan: Okay.

A little later I was cooking dinner and Ethan wanted to be a kitchen helper. I was handing him the empty boxes and asked him to put them into the recycling bin. Nope, he had other ideas and wanted to reuse it. Then I got a lesson about reusing things.

I'm beat!

My goodness, I'm tired. This week is kicking my butt. We didn't do anything. Thank you and see you tomorrow. I'm taking a nap.

Fair Day!

On Wednesday, the State Fair of Texas has a special with the North Texas Food Bank. If you bring three can admission is only $2. The normal admission price is $16 for adults and $12 for kids. I don't know what we are going to do next year, when Ethan is actually in school and they don't get out for Fair Day. I wonder if that would be an excused absence? Somehow I don't think it will be. I don't have to worry today because it is FAIR DAY!!

Josh took off work. We were meeting my mom on the way because she won't drive to Fair Park. When we first arrived we headed to the dog show. Ethan saw an ice cream vendor and realized that he hadn't had his morning snack and was hungry. We convinced him that cotton candy was better. We stopped by the petting zoo, then headed to the midway. It was time for lunch. Of course it is the fair so we opted for the healthy options of pizza for the boys, my mom had a foot long corny dog, Josh and I split fried tamales and fried mac and cheese. Then we watched the bird show. The kids loved it.

We wondered back through the midway and the boys road a couple more rides. Then it was off to the Girl Scout exhibit. I was excited because I was in Girl Scouts when I was little and they were giving away free cookies! Then it was off to have the Fried Samoas! They were so yummy. I don't know why my dad had a heart attack the day after we went to the fair a couple of years ago. The food we eat is so healthy.

We had to leave the fair early because Ethan had Cirque Fit class, Josh had a meeting with his training group, and my mom had a sale she needed to get to. I don't know where I get my love of saving money.

That was short.

Today was the first Tuesday for the Dallas Museum of Art. The kids were excited to go, maybe a little to excited. The last time we went the place was just crazy busy. Thank goodness it wasn't nearly as busy today. We arrived about twenty minutes early just to make sure we got a parking place. Apparently I didn't need to stress.

After a couple of art projects and thirty minutes. Story time was about to start. Preston need to use the restroom. I want to clean up the last project we were working on and the boys ran off. Apparently they saw a piano keyboard and want to play. Our trip to the Dallas Museum of Art was over.
