Another Easter egg hunt and meeting the neighbors

This morning, we headed to an Easter egg hunt near my parent's home. The boys were so excited to wake up at Nana and Papa's house.
My mom talked to the park department yesterday to make sure we went to the right place and what time we needed to arrive. They told her that the festivities start at 9:00 and the hunt would begin at 10:00. Apparently the memo didn't get to Josh about the times because he thought the hunt began at 9:00. When we arrived everything was still being set up. so we had to entertain the kids till the bounce houses were ready. After a few minutes I realized that people were already lining up near the fields. Of course we had to line up too.

I was shocked there were only three different fields. 0-3 years, 4 - 8 years, and 9- 12 years. Seriously the four year olds are in with eight year olds?? yikes.. I was worried that Ethan wouldn't get any eggs. I had my dad go with Ethan to help him be aggressive. I didn't have any worries about Preston on his field so my mom and Josh went with him.

Just before it was time for the egg hunt to start Josh came over to tell me that they were told at Preston's field that only one adult could go on the field per child. Josh and I decided to move to the opposite side of the field from the entrance to get pictures of the hunt.

Go Ethan!

Look mom!! I did great!

I did so well I got the grand prize!

When we got home our neighbors were having garage sale. We have lived here for almost two years and haven't actually meet them yet. We figured this was a perfect time. She is a stay-at-home mom of three kids. Her two oldest are in school and her youngest is 18 months.

Preston missed his box bed and wanted to take a nap in a box today. We found a box that actually fit on top of his bed that he still fit into.
After nap time we put our bounce house up and invited the neighbors over to play. The kids had so much fun playing together. I failed at pictures. After the neighbors had to go home Ethan was upset that his sister had to go. I figured he was talking about the eighteen month old that he was playing with but instead it was the ten year old. The other girl was Preston's baby. Then Preston was upset that his baby was gone. I'm really glad that Preston has someone near his age to play with that is so close. I'm kicking myself for not introducing myself sooner.

Started off slow but ended with the boys being hyper

Once again I had big plans for the day, but the boys were still wiped from our walk last night. We spent the morning just laying around and just watching TV. The boys were so tired they didn't even fight! It was crazy. They were calm and lethargic.

After naps they woke up and were extra hyper. Sigh. I knew it was to good to last. I was trying to get suitcases packed because we are going to spend the night at my parent's home. I ended up not getting anything packed till after Josh got home. I was so frazzled that I couldn't even think straight.

I was so relieved when we got to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. My parents meet us there and wanted to run around with the kids. I have decided that my kids aren't the loudest ones on the planet, but all the other ones that are louder were at Chuck E. Cheese tonight. My nerves were shot by the time we left the restaurant. My mom suggested for us to head to Kolh's, while my dad and Josh took the boys home and put them to bed.

Kolh's was having a weekend sale on their kid clothes. The Jumping Bean brand was on sale half off, plus an extra 10%. I had a coupon for another 20% off and I had $10 in Kohl's cash.

Five outfits and four pairs of shorts for $56.64. I was pretty excited about my score.

Today tried to kill me.

Last night I went to bed early and tired to sleep in this morning. Just because my body was so sore from all the walking that I've been doing lately. Korri and I had talked about going to the zoo today but my body was screaming NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt so bad when I called Korri wanting to reschedule but turns out that Korri really wanted to reschedule too.

Then I called my mom and she wanted to return some pants she had bought yesterday and I needed to return the Easter outfits that I had gotten. We meet up at the mall to return everything we bought yesterday. My mom was on a serious time crunch and we only went to the two stores. While my mom was at the second store I took the boys to the play area. Should I be concerned that my four year old ask to go to the mall??

Then I took the boys to the Sci-Tech Discovery Center. I love that we have annual passes because we were there for maybe an hour before we needed to head home for lunch.

I'm not up to anything.

I have some ocean front property in Arizona for sale. Do you want to make a deal??

We can make a mess with toys anywhere!

Look mom I'm planking!!

I don't know why the room is spinning.

Preston setting the table for dinner.
After dinner we headed out for another family walk. We decided to go to the park that is farther away but we have walked to before.
Speak softly and carry a big stick!

When we got home I was beat because I had to carry Preston most of the way and he didn't want to be carry. After the boys went to bed, relaxed with a box of Girl Scout cookies. I'm thinking I consumed more calories than I just burned off. *sigh*

Shopping for Easter Outfits.

This morning started off with the boys wanting to play. Ethan wanted to do a scavenger hunt. I came up with a list of stuff like book, 2 cars, different shapes, basically different toys that the boys could easily identify.

Then my mom came over and we headed to the mall. I had a couple of must buy items. Easter outfits for the boys, sandals, and new tennis shoes for Preston, new dress shoes for the boys if the Easter outfits called for them, and maybe some summer clothes for Ethan.

The most important was to find Easter outfits. I really wasn't expecting it to be a big deal. We started at Macy's then worked our way to the food court. Stopping at tall the kid stores on the way. We were coming up with nothing. After lunch we returned to Macy's and still weren't finding anything. My mom and I ventured all the way to the other end of the mall till we ended up at Dillards and finally found a couple of sweater vest outfits that looked great on the boys. The outfits were $45 each. Ouch, but that was the only thing we could find.

I was relieved that we finally found something but I really didn't like how much it cost. We stopped by Kolh's on the way home and got the boys sandals and Preston tennis shoes. I still wasn't happy with the selection of Easter outfits.

After dinner my mom and I left the boys with Josh and headed to Allen Outlet mall. Once again we were striking out. I was just about to completely give up when my mom insisted that we try Babies R Us. That is when I found the $20 sweater vest outfits. I guess the outfits are going to be returned soon.

Movie, Knitting, and Exercising

I was trying to figure out what to do with the boys today. Ethan asked to see a movie. Okay, we keep talking about going to see The Lorax. I called Korri to see if she wanted to join us on our adventure. Korri was running early and I was running late.

I was eventually able to get my act together and we headed out. I was a little worried about Preston at the movie because he tends to want to walk. When we got into the theater there was only one adult there with a child. It was nice to be able to sit where every we wanted and not have to worry about disturbing anyone. The boys really enjoyed the movie. Ethan asked a couple of questions and wanted to snuggle. Preston just wanted his teddy grams opened. All in all it was a great movie experience. I think we are going to join the summer movie club this year.

After we got home the boys had a quick lunch then took naps. While the boys were napping Korri showed me what I missed in the knitting class. Sweet I can finally finish my sock.

After naps the boys just wanted to play around the house and watch Bolt. After dinner we decided to take the boys to the park down the street. Josh had the bright idea to walk to the park. The boys wanted to run to the park. Josh ran with Ethan and I ran with Preston. Preston and I kept stopping to look at the flowers, bugs, and whatever caught our eye. Ethan however was just about the running and he is getting really quick.

From the park you can see people running on the trail behind our subdivision. Ethan wanted to go on the trail and run some more. Preston didn't want to leave till Ethan and Josh left. It was so adorable, Preston started running after them saying, "Wait Daddy and  wait Ethan, I want to go."

I love having the trail so close because the boys can run and not worry about cars or anything. I noticed that Preston kept running side to side like a drunken sailor. I told him that he would run faster if he ran in a straight line. Then he started running straight and then he was saying, "I'm running super fast momma".

Look mom I found dirt!

Bye guys we are going to run!
